Choose between products, coupons, vouchers, deals, and bundles
Match each offer or benefit to the right Connect commerce tool before you build it.
Purpose
Choose the right Connect commerce tool before you build or distribute an offer.
The tools can work together, but each solves a different problem.
Product and coupon
Create a Product when you sell or grant a specific item or benefit, such as a drink, meal, or piece of merchandise.
The product defines the name, price, stock, age limit, and redemption window. A purchase or distribution issues a personal coupon to the recipient. Staff then redeem that issued coupon and its remaining units.
Use this when ownership and redemption history should be tied to one person.
Voucher
Create a Voucher when people should enter a shared code to claim something themselves. A voucher can grant access or quantity for a ticket type, membership plan, coupon product, or bundle.
Set maximum uses, maximum uses per person, and expiry. Because the code can be shared, do not use it for a confidential personal allocation.
Deal
Create a Deal when you want a discoverable offer with its own content, audience, location, schedule, and redemption instructions.
A deal can lead to in-app redemption, an external link, a code, or venue redemption. Use it for a promotion people browse and choose, rather than a benefit you issue directly to named recipients.
Bundle
Create a Bundle when one checkout should combine tickets, memberships, coupons, or products.
Bundles can contain required or optional groups, buyer choices, dependencies, special prices, eligibility rules, sale windows, inventory, and checkout questions. Use a bundle when the combination is the offer.
Quick decision guide
- “Give every checked-in attendee one drink.” Use a product and send personal coupons to checked-in event attendees.
- “Let people claim a benefit with a campaign code.” Use a voucher.
- “Publish a student discount people can discover.” Use a deal.
- “Sell a ticket, membership, and merchandise together.” Use a bundle.
- “Sell one tracked item.” Use a product; the buyer receives a coupon.
Combine tools carefully
A coupon product can be included in a bundle or granted by a voucher. Its own stock and redemption rules still matter.
Before launch, check:
- who can discover the offer;
- who may claim or buy it;
- whether the recipient must be known in advance;
- whether sharing is acceptable;
- which stock and usage limits apply;
- how staff will redeem and report on it.
