Transfer a coupon

Send a coupon request to a friend, accept or cancel it on Android, and check platform limits.

Before you start

You can send an active, unexpired coupon to a friend when its issuer allows transfers and it has units available. Sending creates a request. The recipient must accept it before the coupon becomes theirs.

The current Android app has the screen for accepting and cancelling coupon requests. The iPhone app can send a request but has no acceptance or cancellation screen. The web Wallet currently has no coupon transfer controls. Check that the recipient can use the Android acceptance flow before you send.

Send from iPhone

  1. Open your Wallet and open the coupon group, then the coupon you want to send.
  2. Tap Send to a friend.
  3. If How many appears, choose the number of units to send.
  4. Select one friend under Send to. Use Search friends to narrow the list.
  5. Check your choice and tap Send. This creates a pending request; it does not mean the recipient has accepted.

Send from Android

  1. Open your Wallet and the coupon you want to send.
  2. Tap Send request and choose a friend from the list.
  3. Tap Send request, check the recipient in the confirmation and confirm. Complete the identity check if asked.
  4. Tap Done when the request is sent.

Android sends all units currently available for transfer from that coupon. Its current send screen has no quantity selector. Use the iPhone quantity selector if you need to send only some units.

Accept on Android

  1. Sign in to the recipient's account and open the Wallet.
  2. Scroll to Coupon transfers and open it.
  3. Under Incoming, check the sender and number of units.
  4. Tap Accept, confirm and complete the identity check if asked.
  5. Return to your Wallet. The accepted coupon is now yours to use within its original validity window.

Until acceptance, the requested units are reserved and the sender cannot redeem or transfer those units again. Sending does not extend the expiry date or bring forward the time redemption opens.

Cancel a pending request on Android

Either the sender or the recipient can cancel while the request is pending. Open Coupon transfers, find it under Sent or Incoming, tap Cancel and confirm. The reserved units are released to the sender. Cancelling does not renew an expired coupon or refund its purchase.

An accepted request cannot be cancelled. A new transfer may be possible if the coupon still meets the transfer rules.

Troubleshooting

There is no send button. The issuer may not allow transfers, or the coupon may be used, expired or have no units available.

Your friend is missing. Both accounts need an accepted friendship. Add the person as a friend first.

The request is still pending. The recipient needs to open Coupon transfers on Android and accept it. A send confirmation alone does not complete the transfer.

Accept fails. The coupon may have expired, been cancelled or stopped allowing transfers. Refresh the transfer list and your Wallet. Do not redeem a coupon you have not received.

Tickets work differently. Read Transfer a ticket.
