Test ticket sales before sharing the event link
Check access, prices, invitations and purchase limits from an ordinary guest’s perspective before launching a sale.
Test the sale from a guest’s perspective before sending invitations or sharing the event link. An administrator being able to open the event does not show that other people can buy.
Write down the expected result
Record the event link, eligible buyers, expected ticket type and price, and sale start and end. Decide whether access should come from a shared link or a personal invitation.
Use the right test account
A private browser window helps check an open event link without an administrator session. Membership and invitation rules must also be tested with ordinary accounts that do or do not have the relevant access. Do not add a false membership to a real guest’s account just to make a test succeed.
| Buyer | Check |
|---|---|
| Guest without membership | The intended guest ticket and price are available |
| Eligible member | The member ticket has the correct price |
| Account without the required plan or title | The restricted ticket cannot be purchased |
| Personally invited account | The invitation matches the correct email and ticket type |
Test only the rows relevant to your sale.
Continue to order review
- Open the exact link you intend to share.
- Check the title, date, location and organiser.
- Check that the expected ticket appears.
- Select a quantity and check any registration questions.
- Continue to order review or payment and check the price and total.
You do not need to complete payment to check access and the displayed price. If you choose a real purchase to test delivery too, it is a real order and may charge money; agree who will buy before proceeding.
Check limits and timing
Review event and ticket sale windows, remaining quantity, sale status, scheduled release and per-order or per-user limits. A sale that opens later can only be fully checked as open once that time arrives.
If the test is refused, record the error and check eligibility before changing anything. Use this troubleshooting guide.
Share the link after testing
Use the ordinary happenings.social event link. Do not share a personal invitation link as a common purchase link. After changing access, prices or sale windows, repeat the affected checks.
