Use a coupon in the Happenings app

Purpose

Coupons for drinks, food and other treats land in your Wallet. You redeem them yourself at the bar or venue and show the confirmation to staff.

Step by step

1. Open your Wallet and scroll to Coupons. Coupons are grouped by the place that gave them to you.
2. Tap a coupon. You see all your coupons from that place, each with how many you have left.
3. Tap the plus button to choose how many you want to use now. You can pick from several coupons at once.
4. When you are at the counter, swipe the Swipe to redeem bar all the way across.
5. A Redeemed screen appears with the place and what you redeemed in large type. Show it to staff.
6. Tap Done, or let the screen close by itself. It counts down and closes after 30 seconds.

Only swipe when staff are ready. The confirmation cannot be opened again once it closes, and it is protected against screenshots.

Used and expired coupons

When every unit of a coupon is used, it shows Fully redeemed and then leaves your Wallet. Expired coupons leave your Wallet too. You find both in Coupon history at the bottom of your Wallet, marked Redeemed or Expired.

Troubleshooting

The coupon says Opens with a date. Some coupons only work from a certain time. You can use it once that time has passed.

I see Couldn't redeem. Please try again. Check your connection and swipe again.

A coupon is missing. It may have been used or expired. Look in Coupon history, or pull down on the Wallet to refresh it.

Send a coupon to a friend

Open the coupon and tap Send to a friend when the issuer allows transfers. Choose the units and friend, then tap Send. This creates a pending request. The recipient needs to accept it in Coupon transfers on Android before it becomes theirs. The current iPhone app has no acceptance or cancellation screen.
