Create and send employee benefits in Connect
Create a coupon product, choose an eligible employee group, preview recipients, and distribute the benefit safely.
Purpose
Create a reusable employee benefit as a product, then issue personal coupons to the right employees.
For department-based benefits, use Community title holders as the recipient group. A shared voucher code is a different tool and is not the normal choice for a personal employee benefit.
Before you start
You need permission to create or edit coupons. Confirm:
- what the employee receives;
- the valid period and any redemption limit;
- which department, plan, or audience is eligible;
- how many coupons each recipient should receive;
- that there is enough stock for the expected recipient count.
Correct member and department data before distributing anything. Distribution creates real coupons and does not partially complete when stock is insufficient.
Step by step: create the benefit product
- Open Products.
- Select Create product.
- Configure the product as the coupon-based benefit employees should receive.
- Add a clear public name and redemption instructions.
- Set validity, stock, and redemption rules for the benefit.
- Save the product.
- Review the finished product before sending coupons.
For all available product settings, see Create and manage products.
Step by step: send to a department
- Open Products and find the benefit.
- Select Send coupons.
- Under Recipients, choose Community title holders.
- Under Community titles, select the department title.
- Set Coupons per recipient.
- Turn on Max 1 per user when each employee must receive at most one coupon from this distribution.
- Add an Internal note that identifies the reason and period, for example “Kitchen benefit — August 2026”.
- Review the recipient preview and total quantity.
- Confirm that the selected title and count are correct.
- Send the coupons.
Other available audiences
Depending on the purpose, Recipients can also be:
- All active members;
- Membership plan holders;
- All members & title holders;
- Event attendees.
Use the narrowest audience that matches the policy. Never choose a larger audience for convenience.
Sending to one named person
Connect Web does not currently show a Specific people recipient option in the Send coupons dialog. Do not send a department-wide distribution or a shared voucher code as a workaround for a confidential personal allocation.
For a one-person benefit, contact Happenings support with the page, product, recipient email, quantity, and reason. A dedicated Connect Web recipient flow is planned.
Verify the result
- Open the product or coupon overview after distribution.
- Confirm the expected issued quantity.
- Spot-check recipients when the available view allows it.
- Keep the internal note consistent so later administrators can identify the distribution.
- Review actual use through the redemption view. See Review coupon redemptions.
Troubleshooting
The recipient count is unexpected
Cancel before sending. Review active-member status and department-title assignments, then open Send coupons again.
Connect says there is not enough stock
Increase stock only when the business rules allow it, or reduce the audience or quantity. The distribution does not intentionally issue a partial set.
An employee belongs to two selected groups
Use Max 1 per user when duplicate eligibility must still result in one coupon per employee.
