I received a personal ticket invitation: what do I do?

Happenings WebConnect Web

Open your invitation with the right account and understand the difference between a free ticket and an invitation to pay.

A personal ticket invitation is sent to a particular email address. It may give you a free ticket or access to buy a ticket. The invitation identifies the event and ticket type.

Open the invitation

  1. Open the link in the invitation email.
  2. Check the event, organiser, ticket type and recipient email address.
  3. Create a Happenings account or sign in using the email address the invitation was sent to.
  4. Confirm your email address if requested, then return to the invitation.

If you already have an account with a different address, being signed in to that account is not enough. Use the invited address, or ask the organiser to correct an invitation sent to the wrong address.

If the invitation is free

Follow the invitation’s instructions to accept it. After acceptance, open the event to see your ticket. The invitation email alone does not prove you have accepted it and received a ticket.

If you need to pay

Continue to the event from the invitation, select the invited ticket and complete the purchase at the displayed price. The invitation provides access to buy; it is not itself a paid ticket. Check the order confirmation and ticket after purchasing.

If something goes wrong

Message or problemWhat to do
Wrong accountSign in with the invited email address
Email confirmation requiredConfirm the address and try the invitation again
Expired or revokedContact the organiser; the same link no longer grants access
Already acceptedCheck the ticket on the account that accepted the invitation
Payment completed but no ticketKeep the order confirmation and contact the organiser or support before paying again

Forwarding an invitation link does not give another account the right to use it. If a friend should attend too, the organiser must invite them or provide an ordinary event link where guests may buy.

If you only received an ordinary event link by text or chat, a personal invitation may not have been created. Ask the organiser if the event requires an invitation.
