Purpose

Complete the optional setup screens on the Happenings website: add a profile photo, choose interests, and decide whether to give location and notification access.

When to use this

Use this guide when the onboarding flow is open on the Happenings website. You can continue through every screen without adding a photo, choosing an interest, or granting a permission.

Step by step

1. On "Add a profile photo", select the circular photo area and choose an image from your device.
2. Complete the crop. When your photo preview appears, select "Continue" to upload and save it. The button shows "Saving photo..." while Happenings saves the photo. To continue without a photo, select "Skip".
3. On "What are you into?", select or deselect any interest buttons. Select "Continue" when you have made a selection, or select "Skip" to continue without one.
4. On "Events near you", select "Enable location" and respond to your browser's permission prompt. The flow continues even if location permission is denied or unavailable. Select "Skip" to continue without requesting it.
5. On "Stay in the loop", select "Enable notifications" and respond to your browser's permission prompt. The flow finishes even if notification permission is denied or unavailable. Select "Get started" to finish without requesting it.
6. Happenings opens "Near Me".

Troubleshooting

• "Couldn't save your profile photo." means the photo was not saved. The flow stays on the photo screen, so you can select a photo and try "Continue" again, or select "Skip" to move on.
• If a location or notification permission is denied or unavailable, onboarding still continues to the next screen.
